Description

This large specimen features the exhaustive paragenesis: several sulphide species (golden pyrite, brassy oxidized chalcopyrite and dark sphalerite) deposited by gravity on deep purple amethyst exhibiting some fine growth striaes and neat purple phantoms. Some white calcite overgrows the sulphides and adds some more contrast. Note the sphalerite is UV reactive (orange under LW).

A fine, aesthetic and contrasted combination specimen from this new find (September 2019) in the lesser known Chala mine near Haskovo, in the Spachievo district.
