Description

Piece of eclogite rock (high or ultra high pressure metamorphic rock formed in a depth > 35 km) consisting mostly of green "smaragdite" (a variety of actinolite) - this is stated on the label - but I guess the green mineral is omphacite because this is more typical for eclogite rock and the structure is "grainy", without cleavage faces.
"Weißenstein, Stammbach, Münchberg Metamorphic complex, Franconia, Bavaria, Germany" is the type locality for omphacite.
Minor quartz and garnet is present, additionally, there are lots of small sky-blue crystals of an unidentified mineral, very possibly cyanite.

From an unknown french collection, out of old Dr. Krantz stock. Comes with printed, stamp-like label.
