Siegburg, North Rhine - Westphalia, Germany
Class:
Massive/Crystalline
Size Range:
Small miniature (3-4.5 cm)
Size:
3.4 × 2 × 1.7 cm
Description

Very old specimen of so-called 'siegburgite' - a fossil resin, like amber, but with certain chemicals missing. Besides the 'type locality', Siegburg, it's only known from two other places. This fossil resin must have been very liquid, dripping on sand, thus always containing sand graines.
