Description

Interesting and quite rare old timer from the coal mines of the Saar basin, SW Germany. Probably from the late 19th century, this specimen shows brownish siderite crystals settling on a matrix of siltstone/ferriferous mudstone (Kohleneisenstein).

Probably from the Jägersfreude mine in Dudweiler, a classic locality.
