Description

A rock core, bored in the Kipushi Mine, with brown lustrous and well defined crystals of siderite, species that is quite uncommon in this mine. About 2/3 of the rock core are composed of yellow lustrous massive chalcopyrite.

Collected before 1960, the specimen is from the stock of Robert Verdoodt, who was working in the laboratories of Union Minière du Haut-Katanga and evacuated to Belgium in 1960 after the beginning of the Congo crisis.
