Galena & Siderite & Marcasite

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Seilles, Andenne, Namur District, Belgium
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
3.5 × 6 × 3.5 cm
Description

Very nice combination of galena, siderite and marcasite. The siderite forms 3D structures that are sprayed with nests of marcasite. Between them some galena crystals are present. There is a second layer (sphalerite?) beneath the first. The space between the two seems to have underwent a dissolving process, unveiling some galena crystals deep in the second layer. The basis looks like a schalenblende. Showy and much to discover specimen.
