Description

This is an old piece from a very unusual locality* that features glassy lustrous slightly translucent blue crystals of scorodite to 5 mm, scattered over a botryoidal goethite matrix. A really hard to see scorodite from this locality. This one is from an unidentified old Italian collection as revealed by the two old labels. The oldest one corresponds to Julius Böhm, a dealer from Viena, who used this label with the "Nibelungengasse" address in the period of 1925-1938.

*The given locality is Morro Velho mine, but it could be from the nearby Ouro Preto, both inside the Iron Quadrangle in Minas Gerais.
