This specimen hosts some ruby crystals up to 0.8 cm frozen in matrix.

Comes with old Carl Friedrich Pech label dated to 1881-1891 by the given address. The firm of Carl Friedrich Pech (Jr.) was a mineral dealership in Berlin which existed from 1874 to 1899.

The specimen resembles the rubies from Mysore District, Karnataka, India - the locality "Mudgee, Wellington Co., New South Wales, Australia" is listed for corundum in mindat but unfortunately no picture of a ruby specimen from this location is available.
