Description

Oldtimer from the USA: from the Krantz stock stems this interesting specimen with reddish-pinkish calcite crystals grown on whiteish quartz, all on a matrix of layered fine grained vein material. I did not test if the matrix is carbonate or siliceous because of the attached old english label. The specimen comes out of a Terlingua suite but had no additional label to verify. The matrix seems to be typical of an epithermal vein system with quite rapid cooling. Base sawn.
