Description

A very rich and representative combination specimen featuring lustrous apple green fluorapatite, greyish quartz, grey to white calcite and black metallic hematite on matrix.

The host rock is a lamproite, a rare volcanic rock that erupted and crystallized 7 million years ago.

Jumilla is a quite famous locale in Europe: its remarkable mineralogy has been studied and described since the 18th century by the most notable european scientists, among which Jean-Baptiste Romé de L'Isle and René Just Haüy, the founding fathers of crystallography.
