Description

This classic old-time specimen features parallel-grown, lustrous acicular stibnite and crystalline quartz between the stibnite crystals. On the top, the small quartz crystals are arranged in groups of milky to clear, double-ended crystals. Very beautiful under magnification. The stibnite partly shows some blueish iridiscence. Rare material from classic Wolfsberg, Harz mountains, Germany.

The origin of this collection was bought from the RWTH University, Aachen, Germany in 1952 by H. Köhler's father (an exception likely due to war damages, usually the german universities don't sell anything out of their collections). All the specimens of this collection are quite old, dated between 1870 and 1930. H. Köhler inherited the collection in 1960 and sold it appr. a decade before.
