Description

A nice group of milky grading to clear quartz crystals from this historic old mining area dating back to 1845. This was some of the earliest mining activity in the newly founded colony of South Australia. The nearby Montecute Mine and Australia's first Gold Mine, the Victoria Mine form a small but highly mineralised region.

This specimen was found in the spoil heaps outside an old adit in 1998. There is some minor chipping to some of the crysta'ls terminations but otherwise in excellent condition and sits nicely for display.
