Description

An old geological sample from South Africa - a sawn and polished quartz rock specimen, gold is to be found both on the rough side of the specimen and on the polished section as well. The Witwatersrand gold reefs are archean alluvial conglomerates, the borders of the former pebbles are clearly visible on this interesting specimen.

From old Dr. Krantz stock. By personal notice, this sample is from South Africa, because it was in a lot together with other samles from South Africa, labeled "Starkfontein", "Cluther" and "Rietfontein".
