Cupropolybasite & Pyrite

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Silbak Premier Mine, Stewart, Skeena, British Columbia, Canada
Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
8 × 4.2 × 3.5 cm
Description

Very rare sample of gray cupropolybasite from the type locality. The gray mass consists of micro-crystals of cupropolybasite, with the exception of one or two larger crystal surfaces of about 3 to 4 mm (as far as I can see). The cupropolybasite covers a lot of the shiny, brassy pyrite crystals. Unfortunately I cannot photograph the microcrystals. Original label reads 'polybasite', but this is not listed for the locality.
