Kato Vrontou, Kato Nevrokopi Basin, Drama, East Macedonia and Thrace, Greece

Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
5.5 × 2.5 × 1.8 cm
Description

This piece was found around 15 years ago in a small skarn zone near Kato Vrontou village. It was and still is, the best green quartz from northern Greece. The green color is due to chlorite inclusions and there is minor epidote at the back too. The whitish spot near the tip is not damage just white inclusions and there are brownish inclusions in the crystal too. Damage wise, there is an almost invisible tiny little chip (less than 1mm) on the tip and a missing, small and thin sidecar crystal at the back. The crystal is quite shapr and lustrous and quite frankly, better than most Seriphos prasem I see around.
