Spherocobaltite & Picropharmacolite

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Oumlil Mine, Oumlil, Zagora Province, Drâa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco
Size Range:
Small miniature (3-4.5 cm)
Size:
3.5 × 2.5 × 2 cm
Description

Sperocobaltite is rarely for sale, and if they are they're from Congo and are very expensive... This specimen carries a little over 50 micro crystals (to 0,3 mm). That sounds extremely small, but 90% of the real spherocobaltite does not get bigger than this! Most of the crystals are transparent and are on a black (heterogenite) matrix, what gives the crystals a nice contrast. Found by seller in april 2008.

High resolution mineral images (tiff 75 MB), for use in articles or to print A3 for your wall, will be provided as download on request.
