Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
9.4 × 8.9 × 6.8 cm

Description

White hollow feldspar spherules scattered in a black obsidian matrix. The voids inside are covered by tiny white microspheres of cristobalite and greenish tabular crystals of fayalite that have great vitreous lustre. Good representative specimen for the locality and rock type.

I’m told that the locality is since long in a military property, and the last pieces were recovered in the 1970’s. Hand size specimen that was acquired in 1977.

Former Jan Sibtsen collection, #2800.
