Description

You are bidding on a small sample with one of the most curious and rare occurences ever documented at the Foote Mine. The matrix of massive, crystalline holmquistite hosts a few tiny groups of crystals of a mixture of calcioancylite-Ce and monazite-Ce among larger pyrite crystals. This find was documented in MR V18: 203-205 by John White at the Smithsonian. This specimen also hosts orange crusts of the rare earth bearing mineral "not matching any known species". This was an incredibly rare find made by Emory Mcdanal and this is a specimen from the original find and his collection.
