Description

Well defined striated gemmy red crystal of cinnabar with resinous lustre, spotted with some silver lustrous spheres of native mercury. The specimen has a good size, with the matrix of microcrystalline marcasite. It is from Almadén, “The” Super Classic Locality for this species already exploited by the Romans 2000 years ago.

Collected in the 1960’s, it is an Ex. A. Álvarez specimen.
