Description

Flattened aggregate of black tabular hematite crystals, forming a very aerial and aesthetic rosette, with good lustre and very good definition of faces and edges. According to the associated label, it is from the Pyrtyndyrma Mountain, about at 25 km South of Puiva, in the Ural Mountains, where "Alpine cleft type” deposits are located. Very few specimens from this locality where distributed in the market, and are not frequent.

Acquired in 2003. Ex Dr. Bob Janssens specimen, #328.
