I first visited this locality in 1992. Amazed by the beauty of emeralds that can be found in the ravine of the Leck creek (Leckbachrinne) made me a regular visitor for years. They are found in glittering biotite-actinolite-talk schist at the elevation of 2200 m.

Most of the material comes from the old mine owned by the family Steiner from Steinach at the foot of Habach valley. To smaller extent the emeralds are also found in neighboring valleys Hollersbachtal and Untersulzbachtal, belonging to the same fault line. While the emeralds are most known, other varieties of beryl can be also fund here. On the right side of the mine there is a smaller outcrop that produced aquamarine, while above the mine one can find colorless to yellow beryl.

The specimen offered here is one of rare examples where emerald is accompanied by yellow and bluish varieties of beryl. The largest emerald on this specimen measures 2 cm in length. It has a nice transparency with transition to heliodor at its rims. At its base it is white due to many inclusions. The crystal has few natural fractures that have been repaired. In addition, there are several smaller emeralds on the top of the specimen, one of which has a color reminiscent of aquamarine, and on the left side of the specimen there are two yellow beryl crystals. It is a larger display specimen with six crystals that stands well in several orientations.
