Description

"Aphrit" is an aragonite pseudomorph after gypsum. The specimen features white, foliated masses of aphrite with pearly luster in matrix rock.

A very old specimen which comes with beautiful old label. The label means: "Aphrit (Schieferspath), schaaliger - Krottendorf, Sachsen - Freiberg 1825" (Aphrite (cliff spar), shell-like - Krottendorf, Saxony - Freiberg 1825)
It is the oldest specimen in this auction, dated 1825!
