Description

This specimen features an area of crystallized, rich buttery yellow gold of 0.8 x 1.1 cm size, beautifully perched atop a grey, grainy quartz matrix.

"Yani, Sorata, Larecaja Prov., La Paz Department, Bolivia" is a small village in the Cordillera Real range in 2930 m asl, about 10 kms north of Sorata, east of Titicaca sea and not listed in mindat. The Marcamarcani Mine (San Baldomero Mine), Sorata, Larecaja Prov., La Paz Department, Bolivia" in the same county (municipio) is listed for gold, so maybe this mine is meant or there are likely further unlisted gold occurrences present in this area.

Mounted on an acrylic base (which could be easily removed). Weight is including stand.
