Description

Specimen from old finds at Siglo Veinte Mine, Llallagua, Bolivia, which features nice gold wires and flakes richly scattered over a lawn of white quartz crystals. Lots of beautiful details are visible under magnification. Accompanied by quartz, black cassiterite and galena.

The specimen was originally obtained from the son of an old geologist of the mine, only three specimens were offered (personal notification of the seller). This is the second specimen I offer on e-rocks, the third specimen will remain in my collection.
According to mindat, gold is not described for Siglo Veinte Mine (Siglo XX Mine) so far, so this was likely a very small one-time find in the 70's or 80's.
