Description

This specimen hosts massive galena in white crystalline baryte. From old Nassereith mining district in Tyrol, Austria. The area was mined for silver, lead and zinc since appr. 1200 with the height in 16. and 17. century, mining ceased at the beginning 20th century.

Comes with an odd cardboard label, the mineral name and locality are on-glued cutted single words, probably from an older printed label. This type of label was quite rare at Krantz; the origin is unknown.
