Description

Thucholite is an uranium-bearing pyrobitumen - a mix of hydrocarbons, uraninite and sulphides. Wrexen and Twiste, near the City of Kassel in North Hesse, were once prospected for uranium in copper-mineral nests in fossil plants. Not a lot of the tested material came into public.

This is one of the Very rare samples. You can clearly see the fossil plant remnant with the thucholite (a pyrobitumen variety). Around it the sandstone is colored by sulphides - blue azurite, maybe bornite, some green malachite on the back (not pictured).
