Oelsnitz, Vogtland, Saxony, Germany
Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
5.5 × 7.9 × 7.8 cm

3.50cm
Description

Clear to pale gray blue tansparent fluorite cubes from an old collection. matrix is massive fluorite mixed with minor siderite crystals and possibly some dolomite.

The main crystal has a colourful rainbow effect caused by internal cleaving. A beautiful specimen and I am unfortunately unable to supply the name of the mine from whence it came.

I acquired the specimen in the early 1980's from Kovac's in Melbourne and it purportedly came from H Warner collection before his move to Woollongong. Exactly locality is most likely Schönbrunn near Oelsnitz.
