Interesting old timer from a classic german locality: this cuprite specimen (with a smaller second one, not pictured but will be sent with this one) ) comes from (Ober)erl near Linz, formerly also spelled 'Ehl' and 'type locality' for Ehlite, a synonym of Pseudomalachite (which in fact was first discovered at the neighboring Rheinbreitbach copper deposit.

This specimen shows reddish crusts of partly crystalline cuprite which are cleft fillings on quartz and may originate from the 'Venus' mine. Comes with nice old label, specimen is approx. 100 years old or even older.
