Description

Fibrolite is a name for the fibrous form of sillimanite. According to the label, this is a single crystal of altered corundum resp. a pseudomorph of "fibrolite" after corundum.

Comes with pencil writing on the backside of a printed A. Krantz label - such "recycling" labels were occasionally used by Krantz. Silimanite and corundum are both listed for a lot of localities in Jackson Co., N. Carolina, USA, thus no exact assigment is possible.
