Description

Older specimen of mostly malachite-covered native copper, looks like some cuprite is also present. Labeled to be from Tata, Morocco, where copper was mined in historical times out of sedimentary rocks (some quartz grains are intergrown with the copper which may indicate the specimen comes out of a sandstone/conglomerate). Recently a big mining concession was granted for a Tata copper project.
