Description

A piece of so-called "Kupferpecherz" (copper pitch ore) from classic Bad Lauterberg in the Harz mountains. It is an amorphous mixture of azurite, cuprite, limonite, malachite, siderogel and tenorite.

This is a very old specimen dated to mid 19th century from old Dr. Krantz stock. The canceled company's location "Berlin" at the bottom of the label gives a hint that the specimen dates back to before the movement from Berlin to Bonn in 1850.
