Description

A very interesting 19th century old timer from Russia with a beautiful and informative old hand written label: octahedral perovskite crystals settle on a chromitite matrix accompanied by dark greenish chlorite group mineral which is labelled kammererite and should be a chromian clinochlore. Rare material and a not so common locality for perovskite compared to the "usual" Zlatoust urals specimens.

The locality is not in the mindat database nor did i find it in the web, but it is mentioned in the (german) book "Zarenschätze" by Kolesar & Tvrdy about russian minerals and localities. On the label it is written Tjoplye Kljuci (which obviously means "warm springs") - the Russia specialists may help out.
