Description

Bright red crusts of cinnabar in a vuggy matrix, accompanied by galena.
A rare 19th century specimen with on-glued label of notorious Charles Ottley Groom-Napier (1839-1894) alias "Prince of Mantua and Montferrat" ("Mus. M&M"). The (strongly faded) label means: 'Cinnabar with chloride of mercury & micaceous iron, Hungary'. The 'micaceous iron' is quite surely galena, not hematite. Calomel is realistic in my opinion but needs to be analyzed to be sure.
