Description

A very nice and showy specimen of the famous alpine adularia. The quite large crystals are almost complete (on the backside is a contact area) and have only minimal mousebites - excellent condition regarding the age of the specimen. Some chlorite is dusted on the adularia, following crystallographical preference along the twin lamellae.

The accompanying label attributes it to Guttannen, Hasli Valley - from my experience i would say it is from the Rhone Glacier/Furka/Grimsel area which is not that far from Guttannen (being a major township in the Hasli Valley). A good classic from Europe.
