Description

This kind of dolomite specimens was quite abundant in the 1970s and 80s - they mostly came from Black Rock, Arkansas and this was what i thought when i first saw the specimen. However, the label gives Bartlesville, Oklahoma as locality. The Picher Field, OK, specimens are also similar. After some discussions with collectors friends it seems to be the right locality as Bartlesville is only some 80 km away from Picher and the specimen could have come from local quarries there. So i will stick to the Krantz label as it makes sense with the caveat that the specimen could be from Picher. Thanks to the community! Some small chalcopyrite crystals settle on the pinkish saddle shaped dolomite crystals, on a greyish limestone matrix.
