Description

The Bandora Mine, near Silverton, has produced some of the finest chalcopyrite and quartz specimens ever found in Colorado and this is a stellar thumbnail example. The striking, sharp, interpenetrating chalcopyrite twins are beautifully iridescent on the bright, golden-brassy, lightly striated crystals. The gorgeous little spray of quartz needles is a fabulous accent. The Bandora Mine was intermittently active from 1884 to about 1950.
