Pseudomorph

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Cripple Creek District, Teller County, Colorado, United States of America
Class:
Crystal Group/Cluster
Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
9 × 5.5 × 4 cm
Description

The laumonite is replaced by barite, crystallized very well and several centimeters long. It is almost umdamaged, at some imperfect crystals you can see that it's hollow inside. The laumonite doesn't exist anymore, only it's form.
But barite is not what it's all about: the mineral is partly overgrown by light purple fluorite. The crystals are very rich on this item. They are cubic with a good color and a great contrast to the pseudomorphs.
Extremly interesting and fine stuff from a unique find in the world! Some white calcite is also present. This is the last specimen I have.
