Campylite With Calcite

A K Borland Collection

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Dry Gill Mine, Caldbeck, Cumbria, United Kingdom
Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
5 × 9 × 7.5 cm
Description

A 1.7 cm long calcite crystal is nestled among curved barrel-shaped mimetite variety campylite crystals. There is also an area of lustrous quartz crystals. This comes with two previous labels.

One from Gregory, Bottley & Lloyd (who I got the specimen from), the other is from the A. K. Borland collection. A note on the back of the latter indicates that this specimen was self-collected by Borland in 1978.
