Sharp rhombohedral crystals  of calcite with distinct hoppered edges and an odd brownish hue due to iron staining from the first period of mining at Mount Bischoff which ended in 1947 after seventy years of continuous mining, Mt Bischoff in its hayday was considered to be one of the worlds richest tin mines.
