Description

A so-called 'Hornstein' (a silicate-rich chemical sediment) matrix rock is hosting several in-grown, lustrous arsenopyrite crystals up to 4 mm.

Come with antique label of the the Heidelberger Mineralien-Comptoir. It was one of the earliest mineral dealerships in Europe, tracing its roots back to 1804 when a 25-year-old tax inspector named Karl von Leonhard began occasionally dealing in minerals. Leonhard eventually became a prominent name among the mineralogists of Europe, having published numerous books and articles.
