Description

„Moroxit“ is a name earlier used in Norway for apatite of deep greenblue colour mostly known from the old Arendal iron mines. Here we have a specimen with a distinct zone of pretty blue translucent, partly gemmy Moroxit beside quartz and black amphibole.

The specimen is from the collection of the famous Swedish mineralogist Harry von Eckermann († 1969, the mineral Eckermannite is named after him) and is followed by an original label bonded in a cardboard box.
