Description

A good sized rodingite specimen hosting a vein of clinochlore with perched on top a solid, very lustrous rhombododecahedral hessonite, surrounded by a few colorless apatite hexagons. Hessonite displays an excellent quality, with some translucent sectors too. Good color contrast overall.

This is a very old Alpine specimen, possibly 50+ years old.
The matrix appears to have a crack which has been stabilised with some resin or glue, barely visible. The specimen is very solid and stable, and I have not attempted to remove the consolidating agent, however in my opinion it could be trimmed to perfection as a large miniature without problems.
