Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Huanzala Mine, Huallanca, Bolognesi Province, Ancash Department, Peru
Size Range:
Small miniature (3-4.5 cm)
Size:
3 × 4.1 × 2.9 cm
Description

Two pale pinkish fans of ankerite sit atop chalcopyrite crystals and have doubly terminated quartz crystals scatered about. The ankerite appear to be hollow or at least partially so and are most likely psuedomorphs of an earlier carbonate. The silky lustre of the fans help create a very pleasing three dimensional specimen when viewed frm any angle.
