Description

Very rare 'double- or triple-pseudomorph'/epimorph. Little turquoise colored chrysocolla crystals cover dark brown, hollow 'limonite'. An epimorph obviously. Mindat entry suggests it's a triple pseudomorph after malachite after azurite, but the crystal shape reminds me more of the quartz after anhydrite pseudomorphs from Saltinho, Brazil. Also gypsum comes to my mind. Because of the hollow shapes and the tiny chrysopcolla crystals I think the first replaced mineral(s) must have been easily dissolvable and the replacing process was surely relatively quick. Anyway, it's rare and very beautiful unique material, this specimen maybe one of the last you might get for a reasonable price.
