Description

Old specimen of blue grey andalusite of the White Mountain in California. The specimen has an old original label from Roberto Palumbo (Roma) from mid 1900’s. The given locality is « near Laws », and according to Mindat old specimens labelled such as this are from the Champion andalusite mine. The chisel form of the crystal is certainly unusual, and the label was modified to “topaz”, but “andalusite” is clearly visible underneath.

Ex. Ennio Contarini (IT) specimen #2965.
