Description

The mountain Zinggenstock is one of the most famous places for crystals in the Alps, mainly known for its pink fluorite on high quality smoky quartz. Less known is that in the old days a small number of clefts containing gently violet amethyst were uncovered. Some of them are neat sceptre crystals like this specimen, which was sitting packed and unwashed in the basement of the finder (strahler) for over 60 years. Such pieces are rarely offered and are very showy in any collection.
