This specimen features black, amorphous masses of allanite in-grown into a quartz matrix, accompanied by minor mica.

Comes with very beautiful Dr. F. Krantz pen & ink label dated 1910-1920. Aluk island is the type locality for allanite-Ce; this is a rare historic specimen - imagine that a trip to greenland was an adventurous, major polar expedition in this period...
