Hello and welcome to my first auction on e-rocks.com!
Minerals are my passion in life. I started collecting when I was 10 years old and started my mineral business almost 30 years ago. I have run – together with my partner Dorothea Herrmann - a shop called “Kristalle unterm Krönchen" in Siegen, which is located in the heart of the historic Siegerland mining district in Germany. The name (translates as "crystals under the crown") is after the landmark of Siegen, a little golden crown on top of the Nikolai–church, which is only a few meters away from our shop.
My specialties are classic minerals from historic localities (ideally with the original antique labels) and fine and uncommon minerals from worldwide localities.
We exhibit our minerals in several shows during the year in Germany (like the Munich show, Walldorf, Freiberg, Siegen, Bad Ems, etc.) and also in Ste.-Marie-aux-Mines, France.
In addition we have been organizing the local mineral show in Siegen since 2001 and we were co-founders and promoters of the “Festival der Kristalle” in Wolfach/Black Forest for the first twelve years.
Finally I am an author of publications in magazines, books and newspapers (latest ones: the book “Siegerland & Westerwald”/Bode-Verlag, articles in the book “Harz” /Bode-Verlag and in Eberhard Equits book “Drawings of Mineral Masterpieces”).

For my first auction I choose a mix of aesthetic minerals, European classics and very uncommon and rare old time material like the German fulgurite.
