Collection Arkane - Don Davis Collection: 01 Apr - 07 Apr 2019

A second special auction of some specimens from the collection of the late Don Davis, an American mineral collector, on behalf of his widow Marget.  Profits will go to Marget.  See below for more information provided by Marget.

 Don Davis (1925-2018)

“Don Davis had a passion for minerals and mineral collecting, which when combined with his love of travel, caused all who knew him to greet him with the questions “where have you been? and what have you been collecting?”.

Though completely self-taught, he was very knowledgeable and was a highly regarded member of the Connecticut Valley Mineral Club.  He found such joy in learning about and collecting minerals, and wanted to share that joy with others, and would often have a specimen tucked into his pocket for give away to a new member.

Don felt there were no greater wonders than those produced in nature and to own a beautiful mineral specimen was to bring that wonder closer to oneself to share and enjoy.”
