Description

A neat, very rich specimen of magnanelliite as sharply pointed, intense yellow crystals with other sulfates.

Magnanelliite (IMA 2019-006) has just been identified from a recent, most unexpected find in a deeply altered portion of the sulfide orebody at Monte Arsiccio, one of the most prolific localities in recent Italian mineralogy, and is associated to other exclusive species. The name duly honors friend and fellow collector Stefano Magnanelli, one of the most knowledgeable collectors of the region with decades of experience in Tuscany and a deep focus on the Apuan area.

Of course, author's material from the original find. Please note that minerals from this one-time vein, offered to collectors and dealers at the Munich show, have been found in very limited amounts and there is very little chance of future finds.
